Need some help learning how to install the CMS CuteNews? No worries, I'm here to help you :) . Its actually pretty straightforward and simple and is done in less then five steps! Read on below for a step-by-step guide complete with screenshots (shitty screenshots, but screenshots nontheless!). Please remember this is under copyright and is created and owned by ink ablaze, so do not redistribute or take credit! If you would like to feature it on your website, send me a message.
Log into your ftp/file manager for your website. The same place you go to edit or create webpages. Upload the file to your root folder. When you can see "index.php" listed on your screen, thats how you know your in the right place.
Step Three: Unzip The CuteNews Folder
When you choose to "upload a file" you will be brought to a screen to upload it from your computer. On one side is the regular file upload, but this is a .zip file, which is a compressed version of a regular file, so we have to "unzip" it. So choose to upload the file through the "archive, zip, tar, tgz, gz..." option.
BUT WHAT IF I DONT HAVE THE OPTION TO UPLOAD A ZIP FOLDER AND IT WONT EXTRACT THE FILES?
There are TWO reasons for this: 1. If you unzip the cutenews folder on your computer and try to upload the full "unzipped" folder to your ftp but it will not let you because the file is too large. Or 2. you do not have the option to upload zip folders to your ftp...:
Step Four: CuteNews Is Downloaded To your FTP
If cutenews has been unzipped successfully to your ftp/file manager, you will now see a directory called "cutenews" appear. If you manually uploaded the files, doublecheck for any errors before moving on.
Step Five: Go To Your CuteNews Log In
Congratulations! You have installed Cutenews successfully! Once your username and password is created you immidietly have all the tools at your fingertips to begin blogging on your website. Happy blogging!
