How To Blog With CMS There are plenty of great blog sites out there! Livejournal, Blogger, Wordpress...at one time or another, you've probably had one. Eventually though you start to wonder what else is out there...? If your anything like me, I began to get frustrated with the limited capacity of those platforms. Yes I had a nice lovely blog, but I wanted more! My own brand without the blogittyblog.com stuck on the end with more to offer then just blog posts. I wanted to create something that I had total control over, to make into anything I could dream up. Unfortunetly, there is not a "do anything you want" option with blog platforms. So i had to venture out on this quest on my own without anything to lead the way. So what do you do? By now you may have a website with some pages and content on it, but still no way of efficiently posting blogs.... Once you leave your blog platform to create your own website, your booted out the door without so much as an instruction manual! Like a college kid leaving the comforts of home surviving only on ramen noodles, you may wonder why you ever left in the first place. Overcoming the troublesome obsticle of not having a way to archive entiries, assign categories to posts, have a way for viewers to comment on your writing. Even the seemingly simple task of having a place to write and automatically post blogs to your page are nowhere to be found. em>...Ah, to hell with it! You were just pampered before, but your tough and you can handle it! Sure it's a little stone age compared to what you had, but didnt Bill Gates build an 'effin computer in his garage in the 70's? Cant be that hard... Actually. It was Steve Wozniak. And if your partial to insanity, you may have even tried to do all of this yourself (I did) . We'll just throw some links and php around, make a folder for all our posts to go into, do some blogging from good ol' notepad and were good. Right? Um, No. Not only is this way more trouble then its worth, the sheer amount of work and headaches involved is not worth subjecting yourself to. So does this mean we are out of luck? Can't have your cake and eat it too? Dont lose hope! Blogging with the same tools you had in wordpress or blogger are actually closer to your fingertips then you think! Just like how 'lil cms' is great for easily updating your site elements and content areas, adding a great blogging cms to update, post, and create content is going to take your site to the next level and give you ultimate freedom and control ♥ Theres lots of choices and features to choose from. I'll show you how to find the blogging cms that will work best for you in part two of this article... |
